It’s quite funny how I came about becoming a television host. I was a reporter for a show and the host could not make it for shoot at the 11th hour. My producer, Ooi, asked me to do the host links as the camera crew was already booked (back then, snagging a booking for TV3’s camera crew was extremely competitive as they were producing so many in-house programmes and he feared, rescheduling would affect our deadline).
I had written her script, so Ooi reckoned it would be easy for me to memorise the script and appear as guest host for that episode.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
