Master of Ceremonies
My first emcee job happened because I had to fill in for someone who fell ill. I was earning extra income as a part-time dancer while studying in USM, Penang and my (first) Manager, the late Nigel Samson, had asked me to fill in the role “because you’re the only one who can speak proper English and Malay.. and just pepper it with some Hokkien-lah!”.
So I did.
From there. I would do a couple of gigs but it wasn’t till I started working as a Broadcast Journalist and TV anchor at Media Prima, did I really seize the opportunities seriously. I was already writing my own scripts and had interviewed so many amazing individuals, so it made sense to expand my skills to emceeing professionally. I’ve not looked back since.
